This policy explains how refunds and cancellations are handled on MatchMode. By registering for any tournament listed on MatchMode you accept the terms set out below.
1. MatchMode is a platform, not a payment processor
MatchMode is operated by Kishan Raj Venkat, a sole proprietor based in Bengaluru, India. We provide a platform that connects tournament organizers with players. When you register for a tournament, your entry fee is paid directly to the tournament organizer (typically via UPI). MatchMode is not a party to that transaction and does not hold any funds on your behalf.
2. Refund eligibility is determined by the organizer
Each tournament organizer is responsible for publishing and honoring their own refund and cancellation policy for the event they host. You should review the organizer's policy before completing payment.
Typical situations include:
- Tournament cancelled by the organizer — the organizer is expected to refund entry fees in full, in line with the policy published for that event.
- Player withdrawal before the registration deadline — refund eligibility is at the organizer's discretion, as stated in the event policy.
- Player withdrawal after the registration deadline or no-show — entry fees are typically non-refundable.
- Registration declined by the organizer (e.g. category full, eligibility mismatch) — the organizer is expected to refund entry fees in full.
3. How to request a refund
All refund requests must first be raised directly with the tournament organizer using the contact details listed on the tournament page. Please include your name, registered phone number, tournament name, and a brief reason.
Organizers are expected to acknowledge refund requests within a reasonable time and process approved refunds via the same channel used for payment (typically UPI to the original payer).
4. Escalation to MatchMode
If an organizer is unresponsive or refuses a refund that you believe is due under their own published policy, you may escalate to MatchMode at admin@matchmode.in. We will review the case on a best-effort basis and may contact the organizer on your behalf.
MatchMode does not hold the funds in question and cannot guarantee recovery. Persistent failure to honor refund obligations may affect the organizer's reliability score and their ability to list future tournaments on the platform.
5. Platform fees
MatchMode currently does not charge players a platform fee on tournament entries. If we introduce any platform-level fees in the future, the applicable refund treatment will be stated separately at the point of payment.
