These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MatchMode. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms.
1. About MatchMode
MatchMode is a proprietary service operated by Kishan Raj Venkat, a sole proprietor registered under MSME (Udyam) in India, having a registered address at Bengaluru, India ("we", "us", "MatchMode").
MatchMode is a competitive identity platform for amateur racquet sports. It connects tournament organizers with players, records verified tournament results, and converts those results into ratings and rankings.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are between 15 and 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian is aware of and consents to your use of the service.
By using MatchMode you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are not using the service in violation of any applicable law.
3. Your account
Your mobile number is your primary identity. You are responsible for keeping your phone and OTP secure. You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or transfer your account to anyone else.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we determine, in good faith, to be duplicate, fraudulent, or in violation of these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading information about yourself or your tournament results
- Attempt to manipulate ratings, rankings, or the feed through collusion, falsified matches, or rating rings
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other players or organizers
- Upload content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to access non-public parts of the platform
- Use the platform to send unsolicited promotional messages
5. Tournaments — players
When you register for a tournament through MatchMode you are entering into a direct relationship with the tournament organizer. Payment for entry is made directly to the organizer (typically via UPI). MatchMode is not a party to that transaction. We provide the platform; the organizer runs the event.
You are responsible for ensuring you meet the eligibility criteria of any tournament you register for (age bracket, gender category, skill rating).
6. Tournaments — organizers
If you list a tournament on MatchMode you represent that you have the authority and resources to run it. You are responsible for:
- Accurately stating tournament details (categories, fees, schedule, venue)
- Verifying payments and confirming registrations within a reasonable time
- Conducting the tournament fairly and uploading verified results promptly after completion
- Handling refund or cancellation requests in line with the policy you publish for your event
- Complying with all applicable laws (taxation, premises, safety)
MatchMode tracks an organizer reliability score derived from your hosted-vs-results-uploaded ratio. We may downrank, hide, or remove organizers whose reliability score is materially poor.
7. Refunds and disputes
MatchMode does not process payments. Refund eligibility is determined by the organizer's stated cancellation policy. Disputes must first be raised with the organizer. If the organizer is unresponsive, you may escalate to admin@matchmode.in and we will assist on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee recovery of funds.
8. Ratings and rankings
Ratings and rankings on MatchMode are derived solely from verified tournament results and are computed using our internal algorithms. We do not accept self-reported matches and we do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of any rating. Ratings are intended as a competitive signal, not a credential.
We reserve the right to recompute, correct, or adjust ratings if we identify errors, fraud, or methodological changes.
9. Intellectual property
The MatchMode name, logo, and all related design, code, and content are the property of Kishan Raj Venkat. You may not use them without prior written permission.
Content you upload (profile photo, payment screenshots, tournament posters where applicable) remains yours; you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it within the platform for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
MatchMode is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that ratings will be perfectly accurate, that organizers will deliver promised tournaments, or that we will detect every instance of fraud or abuse.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of MatchMode shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us directly in the preceding twelve months (which is typically zero, since players pay organizers, not MatchMode) or (b) ₹1,000.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by writing to admin@matchmode.in. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. On termination, certain data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of MatchMode.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of MatchMode after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
